Our office is located in the St. Louis, Missouri area. We have traveled to client destinations from Anchorage, Alaska to Washington D. C. and in between. Few can match our experience and expertise.
Vast knowledge has been gained by Construction Auditing in a variety of different industries:
With our expertise we have performed many types of cost recovery and contract savings audits in many industrial situations. For example, if you have a suspected billing problem with a $20 million project we can perform the entire Construction Audit and negotiate on your behalf. However, if you are starting a $200 million redevelopment project call us to analyze, dissect contract proposals and recommend cost control language to your contract, before starting the audit process.
We have a small staff of highly skilled professional auditors with construction expertise. James E. Kelly, CIA, MBA-Northwestern University, is our founder and President. He is a past President of the Institute of Internal Auditor Chapter in St. Louis and has more than 25 years performing construction audits. At KBC he has managed many projects up to $400 million. Our auditors have at least eight years experience auditing major construction projects.
The great majority of our audits have been complete detailed audits, not based on samples. Presently, larger Construction Managers and General Contractors have their contracts and payment applications and support documentation scanned so various parties and KBC can source all the construction documents through email. Otherwise we will audit payment documentation from CDs, flash drives or paper copies. To document and verify missing, sensitive and other costs we audit at the location of the documentation: the client's office, construction site or contractor's office.
